Today's run: 2 miles
Week total to date: 8 miles
Month total to date: 16.1 miles
My original plan for today was to try 4, but when I woke up this morning, my legs did not feel good. I figured my best bet was to do something short and easy just to get myself out and moving. It was a bit rough for the first 1/4 mile or so, but once I loosened up I felt a lot better. Also, they cleaned up the trail quite a bit, and the sun was out, so if nothing else that helped the environment and my mood.

Run-1/19/10
Today's run: 3 miles
Week total to date: 6 miles
Month total to date: 14.1 miles
We got about 2 inches of fluffy snow overnight on top of the icy spots, so that made the trail pretty iffy this morning. Overall, I felt kind of sluggish today, and it was hard to get in to a good pace. It wasn't a bad run, but I've certainly had better.

Beginnings
Figured I'd give this a try...
Hello! I'm starting this new running blog so I can share my adventures, and hold myself accountable for my running and training!
My resolution for 2010 was to start running on a more consistent basis than I have been since I graduated high school, and to run my first half-marathon. At this point, I am still trying to narrow down which race will be best for me. Ideally, I'd like a fall half so I wouldn't be doing the bulk of my training in UP winter weather. Not familiar with UP winter weather? Let's put it this way--I look at places like Green Bay, Chicago, and the Twin Cities as having warm weather and relatively small snowfalls. 300 inches a year is pretty normal where I'm at. But, I digress. The tentative finalists for the races I'd like to run are the Grand Rapids half, the Las Vegas half, and the brand new inaugural Sault Ste. Marie half. All three have their pros and cons, so I have a lot of thinking to do in that regard.
So, yeah... ideally, I'd like to post daily about my runs. Most likely, I'll probably post about notable things in my training. We'll see. Here goes nothing!
